Welcome to Contemplative Center of Sacramento!

Hi, I'm Anna-Marie.
I’m a Contemplative Practice Yoga® teacher and Contemplative Practice Yoga® Therapist based in Sacramento, California.
Despite the fast-paced nature of our lives, it is possible to cultivate and maintain a deep sense of interior awareness and stillness.
When we understand how to find stillness in our mind and body, the benefits expand outward, into all aspects of our life.
This is what I live, and this is what I teach.
I offer you an opportunity to pause, slow down and unwind.
Contemplative Practice Yoga® increases levels of receptivity and awareness that we then bring to our life, work and relationships. Contemplative Practice Yoga® infuses my life with a profound sense of joy.
The spark to teach arises from the depth of this joy. You can read more about my teaching and the principles of Contemplative Practice Yoga® on the about page. To learn more about the benefits and unique qualities of Contemplative Practice Yoga®, please read on.

Contemplative Practice Yoga® Classes
Contemplative Practice Yoga® classes are gentle, restorative, therapeutic classes. This is not a work out. Each class is designed to decompress the tensions in your body -- relieving stress, increasing flexibility, improving balance. In each class you learn to dissolve discomfort and connect you to your calm core.

Contemplative Practice Yoga® Therapy
Yoga therapy is different from physical therapy and what we teach you differs from physical therapy exercises. Yoga therapy dissolves pain when no other therapies or medical interventions have helped or when surgery is not indicated. We focus on releasing (not stretching) the deep tensions in the core of your body. Every yoga therapy protocol includes a home practice to do for yourself.
