About CPY
If you desire a calm, integrated life, and seek a steady, quiet, sense of wellbeing, come and discover Contemplative Practice Yoga®.
CPY is unlike any yoga you have practiced before.
What’s different?
Classes are longer than most because the goal is restoration of the calm at your core.
We use lots of blankets, so that your body is fully supported, providing deeper release of tension.
Anyone can do it. We don’t rush you and we don’t push you. We want you to unravel, not replicate your own intensity, so that you can unwind.
Our practice is slow and gentle, unravelling tensions throughout your body.
We teach you how to become aware of subtle interior shifts. With consistent practice, your awareness grows, and your ability to notice changes in your body and mind will expand. This is the first step toward quiet, steady, grounded wellbeing.
As your tensions dissolve, so does your pain. You feel tranquil and at ease.
Your mind becomes quiet, your breath becomes spacious. Your body will start to re-align. Your muscles will retain the memory of ease rather than tension. Your posture improves. Your balance improves. You discover that deep and lasting beneficial change is possible.
Our practice is anchored in physiology and philosophy. The philosophical underpinnings of Contemplative Practice Yoga® integrate traditional western contemplative practices with their Eastern non-dual counterparts.
These practices provide a manageable framework for fruitful living that extends beyond class time.
Both yoga and contemplation are living traditions. They are complementary streams of wisdom that invite us to become aware of the sacred in and through everyday life.
